Emily Yuen is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and a Diplomate in Asian Bodywork Therapy via the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She is also a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) in the state of Idaho.
Her mental health sessions combine many evidenced based counseling theories to help people reach their goals. One somatic tool used is Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) which can be utilized to help release emotional, physical, or traumatic blockages. She also incorporates lifestyle medicine and cognitive behavioral therapy into uniquely tailored sessions.
Emily is an Anusara Inspired® yoga teacher and uses breathing practices, yoga exercises and other mindfulness practices for those that are interested. Dialectical behavioral training tools are also used for enhancing mindfulness.
Emily’s holistic approach is informed from 20 plus years practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) including 9 years at Boise Natural Health Clinic. She looks at the human experience from mind, body, spirit, and environment including diet, lifestyle, trauma, and biology. Emily is a 2002 graduate of the Wellspring School for Asian Bodywork Therapy in Boise, Idaho (later called the Wellspring School for Healing Arts). Emily also has craniosacral training.
Emily’s undergraduate is from Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. During her last four quarters at Evergreen she specialized in Applied Asian Medicine and received her Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis in Human Health. In 2021 Emily received her Master in Social Work from Boise State University. Emily interned at International Rescue Committee and Cottonwood Behavioral Health Hospital.
